Gay Democrats: Congratulations to Bad Andy!

Chances are, many of you already know Andy Szekeres. 'Bad Andy' did amazing work for OFD and the Dean campaign in Illinois. More recently, he was the Midwest coorinator of the DNC's 'Pride at the Polls' program, and coordinated Kerry LGBTI outreach in his area.

What you might not know is that Andy has just been tapped to be the LGBT director for the Wisconsin Democratic Party. Wisconsin is an important state for us in the Presidential Election. Wisconsin is widely considered to be a 'swing state'. (In 2000, the difference in popular votes between Bush and Gore was less than one percent).

Clearly, LGBTI voters can play a crucial role in winning the state for Kerry, and I can't think of anybody better than Andy to do this important work.

As a native Wisconsinite, the former State President of the Young Democrats of Wisconsin and the current President of the Silicon Valley LGBT Democratic Club, I want to congratulate you on your new role with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. You will LOVE the progressive people of Wisconsin and the gay community is filled with plenty of committed activists eager to beat Bush. This fall, don't forget to take a few hours and drive through northern Wisconsin to enjoy the colors - it may not be the end of the earth but you can see it from there!

Ugh now to raise the money and not sleep more than 3 or 4 hours a day. woo hoo :-) Off to sell my body for the funds to fight a good battle.
