Out For Democracy: Where are they now? David Salie

September 09, 2004

David Salie served as Director of House Party Fundraising for the Dean Campaign. Since the campaign, Salie and partner Lynn O'Connell have launched the website www.party2win.com.

With less than two months to go before the election, we've decided to make Party2Win.com free! Party2Win is a web site that helps campaigns and causes organize house parties. Governor Dean asked us all to do all we can, and so we are making Party2Win freely available to candidates and campaigns between now and November 2nd. So if you all know any local, statewide or national campaigns that might be interested in using it for a party platform for these last two months of the election, please tell them that now's the time. You can set up a party program in minutes and use it for fundraising, GOTV or training purposes.

We're going to provide free conference call consulting to all our clients and help anyone interested -- client or not -- organize a "Turn America Blue" National House Party Day on October 2nd, one month before Election Day. Clients are welcome to organize other house parties, of course, but we noticed that many groups found it difficult to get a program off the ground all by themselves. So we'll make "Turn America Blue" National House Party Day open to all. We are putting together a steering committee for the event, so please feel free to contact me should you care to help us lead this effort. We'll be posting more details about "Turn America Blue" on the party2win blog later this week (www.party2win.com/blog).

Here's the skinny on the free offer:

Between now and November 2nd, any new client can set up a Party2Win.com account for free for up to 10 parties. We'll charge $5 per party after the first 10. We'll provide free conference call consulting throughout the term, starting later this week (see www.party2win.com/blog for a schedule of conference call training topics). To join, register for the "Free 7-day Trial," and then email me so I can switch the trial to last until November 2nd.

Want to host just one house party to help a candidate or a slate of candidates of your choice? Then go to www.ActBlue.com and set up your contribution page for your own house party.

We're also organizing "Button Parties" to help local groups of Kerry supporters get volume discounts on promotional material like buttons, bumper stickers, and yard signs. For more information, go to www.party2win.com/buttonparties.

Thank you all for doing all you can to "Turn America Blue" in November!

David Salie
