The mission of The New Jersey Stonewall Democrats, an affiliate of the National Stonewall Democrats, is to secure for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and intersex people the civil rights guaranteed to all citizens. We do this by influencing the Democratic Party from within, educating and leading the Party to improve its record on issues important to the LGBTI community.
NJSD evaluates Democratic candidates for national, state, and local public offices and actively supports and endorses qualified LGBTI and pro-LGBTI candidates who best support NJSD’s mission. NJSD evaluates ballot measures and advocates for legislative changes favorable to our mission, and educates the LGBTI community and our supporters about the positions of the Democratic Party and its candidates.
NJSD is actively seeking new members to join our exciting organization in this important and historic time for LGBTI rights. We invite new ideas and strategies to help the LGBTI community continue our move forward. We are also looking for any openly gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered or intersex elected officials or candidates seeking endorsement, to become part of our organization.
